If you want to transfer a domain from one company to another, you’ll need a unique code, which may be referred to by multiple names – an EPP authentication code, an Auth-Info code, a domain password, etc. All these names refer to the exact same thing – a code that the domain name owner gets from the current domain registrar and provides to the new one during the order procedure. Without a valid code, a domain name transfer process cannot be initiated and this is one of the protection measures against unwanted transfer attempts used with all generic and with most country-specific extensions. For even greater security, the code contains digits and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so if you want to transfer one of your domains, you need to provide the new company with the right code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Hosting
If you have a domain registered through our company and you’ve got a shared hosting account with us, getting its EPP authentication code is astonishingly easy. You won’t have to sign in and out of different admin consoles, since you can manage all your domains via the exact same Hepsia Control Panel, which is used to administer your hosting account. You will see all active domains once you sign in and to the right of the domains whose extensions require an EPP authentication code in order to be transferred, you’ll see a mini EPP icon. All it takes to obtain that code is to click the icon. The code is always emailed to the domain registrant’s email account, so in case the one that you shared originally is not valid anymore, you can update it with several clicks of the mouse from the same section.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you wish to transfer any domain that is registered under a semi-dedicated server account to another domain name registrar, you can obtain its EPP transfer authorization code with a few clicks from your Hepsia Control Panel. All registered domain names are displayed in a separate section. Quick-access buttons will permit you to use separate features. To obtain the EPP transfer code, you simply need to click on the EPP button, which will be next to any domain whose TLD extension supports transfers with an authorization code. Our system will send the code to the domain registrant’s email address, which is presently listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record. If needed, you can edit this email from the exact same section of the Control Panel before requesting the EPP transfer authorization code. The update will propagate immediately, so you do not have to wait for the new email address to be published on WHOIS sites.
